Also, it was a decision between Jenny and her MD!

    You are missing hip flexion!

    And stiff.
And now you know the problems!

    JP,

Go get some help. You are in full lock down spasm.  An MD can help you break this spasm or a good physio with some dry needling.  But you need to get your neck checked out by a pro and figure out what’s up.
    Get your spine checked out.

    CC,

I rock Taylor Stitch jeans.  Carl wears RVCA but I blew those crappy jeans out still!
Believe it or not, we are working on our own inhouse Jean company because we are tired of that exo-skeleton feeling too.

It’s likely a superficial nerve.  Smash your quad and try again!

    Lat fem cut nerve.

    Brenley,

If you are hyper mobile (you are) you have to find stable postions.  This stable CAT 1 movement is the key.  I often won’t let my dancers/yogis jerk because they simply don’t have the stability.  Grind away and be stable.
Sliding surface work it the best for you.  Don’t pull on that capsule.  If you can’t get stable and keep dislocating.  Go talk to an MD.

    Thor,

KL nailed it and you are correct.  People just think the glute is the high butt.  It’s lower too.

    Ps.

    Good wine helps too.
Insert wine anywhere in the order.

You are already a ton ahead of the curve here.  I save the gnarly soft tissue work for after I train and before I go to bed.  It has a great affect on getting you ready for sleep (parasympathetic nervous system).  If you have a good order, do it.  I think it’s more a matter of yes/no. Did or did not do it.

    Hot bath is legit.

    Second what Dave said.

Go get checked out if you are feeling like you can’t get ahead.  The couch wont get your hip capsule or psoas/illiacus/QL or address your rectus femoris stiffness.
Also hammer on your tspine and for the love of thrusters, stop sitting. Respect your back.  If it feels sketchy and you don’t want to train.  Dont.

    Catherine,

Sounds like you are doing a great job of being diligent.  If you’ve hammered on a bunch, have someone look at  your t-spine stiffness and make sure your neck is in good order (a phyiso/chiro can clear it).
Make sure also that you aren’t loading your elbows first as you move.  I did a video with Rich Froning about this topic.

Sounds actually like you tore some kind of adhesion! If your movement is better and your back pain is better, hang tough and see what happens with the point tenderness. And don’t get so tight.  You CANNOT oly and sit.

    Quit that silly bs.

    Greg,

It’s pretty position specific.  If the psoas is stiff or you have some low back wonkiness, the “abs” will freak out like this.  I feel it’s unlikely water/etc, but you can’t really over do it.  I think it’s weakness and stiffness.

    Thomas,

If you still are having issues, go get your spine checked out by a phyiso, AND clear up the scar mess/adhesion with some gut smashing.  Get a softer kiddie kick ball and global shear away.
