Hey Frank! Could you give me some insight into what you’re are doing, and it has helped your shoulders sit back?

I am currently experimenting with a few different techniques to help correct my shoulder position.

Oh boy!  I need to get better faster than that.  I have been out of tennis for a while, and I need to get back full time on the court ASAP.  I have started hitting lightly.  Looks like I am going to have to go to ultra focused mode.

    1.  Sit as little as possible( I am homeschooled so I have more freedom)
    2.  Focus on perfect posture(almost uncomfortable) during workouts, and every day life.
    3.  Smash upper abdominals, serratus anterior, pec major, pec minor, lat, Subscap, scalenes, and upper trap every day 2 mins perside.  twice a day if time.
    4.  5 way shoulder mob, one minute per exercise/per side.
    5. rotator cuff strengthening
    6. PT exercises
    7. lower body mobs, so other problems do not arise.
hopefully this will do the trick for me.  I am fine keeping up with, just hope that the pain/bad posture/symptoms are gone within 1-2 months!

    @bradley

I really appreciate this info!  I had a new therapist the other day, and he was talking about how my shoulder does not sit all the way back, I asked if what I have is ever reffered to as Upper cross, and he said yes.  He also gave e the external rotation, given in the video.  Other than that I will focus on the wall angel (which I cannot do), a lot of tissue work+stretching, and a few other corrective exercises.  Anything I am missing?
About how long did it take for you to fix the syndrome?  and did the pain go away once fixed?

@ Bradley Betts-  thanks a lot for the reply/advice.  I have never been told that I have that specific syndrome.  I have been told that the areas in back are weaker than front,  I have scapula winging, and my upper trap is strong and overactive, while lower traps are very weak.  These are all things that I just read are indications of UCS.  I have been told all this by my phys therapist.  Could you explain or give me a video on the wall angle test?  also any specifics on what you did to fix it would be greatly appreciated.  I am sure that I could have tendonosis as a by-product of UCS, instead of only having one or the other.

@Dshen Thank you for the suggestion, sounds awesome.  Wish it was a couple hundred cheaper, would be tough to justify to my parents.  Even though I have my own money.  I’ll have to think about it.

When I first stumbled upon mobilitywod I though Kstar was a genius and right about everything.  I still agree that he is awesome, but I have found that there is something to say for exploring various methods.  on one side it makes sense to me that static stretching doesn’t work, but on the other side I take a look at gymnists who are uber flexible, and base there mobility largely on static stretching.  I am going to combine the two websites and see how it goes for a week.

I just signed up for the 7 free day for ROMwod yesterday night.  So far I am pretty impressed.  here are my pros and cons for each website (note I still have little experience with ROMwod

    ROMwod pros
    – excellent production quality
    – Peaceful zen like
    – super easy to follow along, recommends exactly what to do with everything
    -titles/descriptions are very straightforward
    -website is easy to navigate
    ROMwod cons
    -primarily passive stretching
-does not have scientific explanations, injury prevention tips, nutrition, etc like Mobilitywod
-does not seem to have any banded stretching, smashing, etc.
    Mobilitywod pros
-videos on a wide array of topics.
    -cutting/new/inovative information
    -many experts + guest stars
-variety of techniques to apply to mobility and injury prevention
    Mobilitywod cons
    – Poor video production
    – videos seem rushed
    – some concepts explained in a way that is hard to understand to the vast majority
    – titles not clear– hard to find what you want
    – no title on daily RX
    -no follow along videos
    -overwhelming
Right now I think that ROMwod will be more effective for me in improving my flexibility and mobility because of the easy to follow along videos, straight forward prescriptions, and no need for a gym ect.  I think I would be more consistent with this website.  AS far as cutting information, and help across the board, the mobility sod episodes are better.
    hope that helps

I would like to use this technique, but can’t find it. Could you post a link or explain it? Thanks!
