I dug into it deeper and figured out she was experiencing Femoral Anterior Glide Syndrome (95% sure, at least).  We took a few weeks off heavy DL’s and heavy squats and focused solely on glute activation and some light unilateral RDL’s. Started working conventional DL’s (she first felt the pain doing sumo’s) and light squats in last week and she feels great. I think somehow she had gotten out of proper glute activation on her DL’s and it ended pushing the head of her femur forward into her hip capsule.  Hope this can help someone else!
