Last year a stingray snapped my big toe tendon (hallucis longus) on my left foot. ROM is 95% with an ugly scar and some scar tissue after a repair and scar revision primarily healed through lots of walking almost immediately post op. While in recovery, I met lots of people with motorcycle accidents to the foot with similar injuries. Now that it’s less sensitive and I’m back to barefoot walking at the beach, I want to chase the knot leftover on my tendon.

I’m currently exploring gua sha. I’m challenged because it’s a very small area over the big toe joint. Since the tendon does extend up my shin, would I be better off trying to work the tendon in this larger area?
