      Hi everyone,

I recently hurt my lower back while doing dead lifts. I saw a doctor and they told me I possibly strained my Piriformis. I was hoping to hear some useful suggestions on how I should treat this injury. I feel pain in the top of my left glute and it radiates down my IT band and sometimes down into my shin.
      Thanks for the help

      Watch the episodes on:
      sciatica
      sitting position
      These are both impacting factors.

According to a PT I saw for similar symptoms, true “piriformis syndrome” is actually rare. Usually what is diagnosed as a piriformis problem is actually a herniated disc at the L5-S1 region, and should be treated as such.

Do you feel pain radiating down the back of your leg as well?
