The Ready State helps everyday athletes enjoy better movement, agility, and strength — with less pain and more protection against injury, especially as they get older.
Our work with elite athletes serves as the proving grounds for our methods. Most people don’t play professional sports. But if our methods help athletes at the highest levels, they can work for anyone.
I believe I saw K-Star this mentioned somewhere either during either his book or a MWod video but I cant remember. Generally, is mobility work done before or after the workout? I’m assuming ‘Smashing’ isn’t the best thing to be doing before a heavy workout but what about the majority?
Is it more dependant on the exercise and the goat? for eg. if someone was coming back from a shoulder impingement but was squatting this day – would mobility to open to hips be done before the workout (thinking banded couch etc), with the shoulder mobs done after or its irrelevant?
More so, is there a difference between when you work on positional exercises (working the hip/shoulder back into the socket) and work on goats?
I thought he said if you need it do it. For example if I don’t Mob my hips/adductors before squatting my squat sucks and I potentially risk injury. If you need to to make sure you’re lifting in a good position I see no reason why you shouldn’t do it first.
Yes, you should mob before and after. (I can’t find the episode, either).
Thanks Jeanette and Mike, makes sense!
