Our work with elite athletes serves as the proving grounds for our methods. Most people don’t play professional sports. But if our methods help athletes at the highest levels, they can work for anyone.
I lack the external rotation to get in a good front rack position with an empty bar. I don’t know if it’s technically called external rotation. I’m just calling it that because I don’t know any better, but in the front rack position I lack the mobility in my shoulders to rotate my hands away from each other and ultimately get my hands outside my shoulders where they would be if I were to clean a barbell to the rack position.
The only way I can get in a good front rack position is with a loaded bar forcing things into position, that just doesn’t feel very good after a bunch of reps.
What can I do to improve shoulder external rotation in the front rack position?
