Do you have to have a “coach” to workout properly. Is there a way to workout correctly without a coach or a workout partner?

          Hello Jill,

While a coach is a great resource and can really speed up the learning process they are not a prerequisite to taking control of your fitness. There are tons of great resources, like this community, to get you on track with your fitness. If you don’t have a workout partner and hiring a coach is not and option there are tons of great ways to get in shape. You can start easy using very light weights, use body weight exercises, join a group class or CrossFit gym, go on walks, swim, pick up a sport, etc. Most important thing is to find something you enjoy doing!

I have been doing most of that. I go to a gym lift, treadmill, mobility. Plus I do yoga at home and joined a boxing gym. I also have started running. But was wondering about that next level and when/if I should invest in a trainer.

              Hey!

If you are willing to invest in finding a good coach and than I say you can certainly go ahead and hire a coach/trainer. Personally, looking back I wish I would have invested in a coach sooner. It certainly has accelerated my learning and fitness after making the decision to bring on a coach. Again not really a requirement to have a coach, but if you can find a good one it can be a great investment.
