Anyone have this book by Gray Cook?

Just wondering anyones thoughts on it?

Looking to further my knowledge on movement and ‘self maintenance’. Worth a read?

yes i have it. it is a great book talking about movement in general and was written in a time when it was still in vogue to train individual muscles, or train with certain lifts/movements which had no real effect on the problems of the athlete. it’s a great read in on that topic and a great one if you want to understand more about how movement patterns don’t translate to other patterns, and how to figure out what imbalances you have.

so the FMS movement screen is detailed in there, as is the clinical version called SFMA.  the FMS is more geared towards non-clinicians and the SFMA is more for clinical people.  i am certified in FMS level 1 and 2 and i think it’s excellent. however, what is not detailed in there is the level 2 stuff or corrective exercises. mwod fits right into what they do, but they go beyond just mobility and into stability and then building strength on mobility/stability.
i would personally recommend taking FMS level 1 and 2 if you are more interested in the topic.
