Thank you for the willingness to help.
After watching the video and doing that test, I can be sure it is the ankle that has the limitations. The video got me thinking a bit more and another way I can explain it is that there is a difference between the passive range of motion by use of some sort of external load – And the active range of motion that can be used when trying to access the range of motion without any external load.
