Any tips on dealing with a tibial stress reaction in a young runner and softball player? She’s been having localized pain on the inside front of her right shin, near where she broke her tibia 8 years ago. We went to the Airostti doctor yesterday. He thinks we are dealing with a stress reaction right now and not a full blown stress fracture. Any suggestions for treatments and quick healing? What about prevention going forward? She has incredibly tight calves so I know we need to do some work there.
Did the doctor you saw give you any recommendations or a plan?
There isn’t a way to speed up healing.
Has anyone evaluated her running technique?
Working up/down stream of the shin?
There are is a lot which addresses different aspects of the shins, calf, running and combinations.
