ParticipantNot having done any kind of exersice for almost 10 years, I ended up with a light tendinitis in both shoulders after 2 months of crossfit. I became aware of a light, but growing, problem in my shoulders the last few weeks, but really topped it of by lifting 160 reps of 44lbs P2OH.
Now I’ve had a week of from the gym and my shoulders have gotten much better – no more pain from just sitting on the sofa. I can do garden work and logging that doesnt exceed shoulder height, but yesterday I worked for 5-10 min with a crowbar over my head, and now my right shoulder (I’m right handed) is back where it was.
Not knowing much about it, I also suspect shoulder impingement.(?) Both shoulders are pulled a bit toward my front, and stretching my arms straight overhead is impossible – just end up looking like the Y in YMCA. I’ve never been the most flexible guy, but after a “wannabe BB period” with steroids and rapid growth 10 years ago, my whole body tightened up and I’ve now got the flexibility of a senior citizen.
What can I do to solve my problem?

ParticipantWhere exactly is the pain in your shoulders?
You should take a look at mobilizing your shoulders. Sounds like you have a typical 21st century human problem of shoulders rolling inward towards the chest, and also lack of overhead arm position. The lack of overhead arm position could be lack of mobility in shoulders, thoracic spine, lats, chest, maybe even triceps. Here is some stuff to get you started:some of these require MWOD pro membership which i highly recommend. i would also recommend getting a Gemini, Supernova, and Rogue bands color green and black. Also lacrosse balls are easy and cheap.try getting your shoulders organized in the proper position and it is likely your problems will go away. but if there is real pain, you should consider going to specialist/clinician to make sure you didn’t do something serious to yourself. -
