The Ready State: Mobility Training with Dr. Kelly Starrett › Forums › Shoulder › Shoulder Impingement Routine
Hi, I was wondering if a shoulder impingement is considered more of an anterior or posterior shoulder pain? In the pain section of the website, I am not sure which routine would most likely help this area. Thanks everyone 🙂
Hey Katelin!
Depends on the location of pain. More often than not its anterior but sometimes people like throwing athletes tend to get more of an internal or posterior impingement. A good place to start is focusing on restoring your overhead position and rotation in your shoulder. Here are a few routines to get you started!

Oh my gosh wow Mike thank you! Where did you find those videos on the website? I tried searching the site with no luck. I am new to the website and still figuring it out so that could be why. lol
No problem Katelin! If you go to the Virtual Mobility Coach tab and go to the search archive and type in “shoulder impingement” you can find these videos.
Hi Mike, I don’t see the “search archive” option inside of the pain section. Just the anterior and posterior view of the body to click on.
Hey Katelin, the “search archive” tab is its own section. Should be below the pain section and has a picture of a leopard.
I just found it. Thank you so much Mike 🙂
