      Any ideas on treatment and prevention. I am 60 years old, female. This is a new one for me. Can’t find much information and in my area there are not many versed in this problem.

      If this was caused from running I would recommend having someone look at your running mechanics.
      If you are newer to running you may have done too much too quick distance wise.
      Tight hamstrings could be a cause.
      Your body is looking for slack in the system which causes your knee to go out to the side vs staying in line.
      You could start with doing a search for hamstring mwods.
