I have a nagging pain in my right shoulder when I am locked out in the pull up position.  ROM is good with a little pain when my arm is directly overhead in the same position as hanging from the bar.

I work as a mountain guide and CF during my off season and have laid off all pull ups/overhead movements since late May.  The pain has decreased but is still present.
Any thoughts on specific episodes or PT rehab to get me back on the bar?
      Thanks

Are you able to create& maintain a rigid spine and stable shoulder position?
If not go to strict pull ups to ingrain good mechanics in a low risk environment.
Your grip may not allow you to create torque at your shoulder.
Grip dictates the ability to create torque in the shoulder and keep the rib cage down.
Looking at Carl Paoli’s hook grip is one approach.

An improved grip will help to create torque and sets a stable shoulder position
