I am an Olympic Lifter now that I am 35 I have all kinds of aches and pains(i’ve learned to needle myself)My hamstrings seem to be tight even in the hole and it puts pressure. Today it even hurts in the pes area which has happen but you just mash out and it goes away. Does anyone know of anything that can help release the hamstring cause needling it is not enough. I am about to retire at this point cause everytime I get in on a macrocycle it flares up by the end of the first week!thanks in advance

Have you started addressing your hamstrings?
Have you looked up/down stream of your hamstring for other impacting factors?
I would recommend hitting them morning and night for 10-15 minutes for a week and see where you are at.

KaitlinThankyou for you response. I am not sure but I am starting to think that this is a MCL sprain. The more I touch the area I feel pain not just in the Pes area but also in the MCL area? I am not sure how one can sprain an MCL from Squats, Power Snatches, and Behind the Neck Jerks. I am considered and Elite lifterbut an old lifter. I am not sure, I am thinking of doing a virtual session online. At least for now I am going to take the week off and do some upperbody beach work!

Sounds like a situation where you need to consult with someone to find out what exactly is going on.
An elite lifter can still have situations come up that need attention.
Has anyone taken a look at your mechanics and how you are moving through the lifts?
You may be compensating for something else going on and may not be aware that you are making a compensation.
Yes doing a virtual session can help start getting things sorted out.
