I came across a new product by Donnie Thompson and Spud, Inc, the Formal/Casual Bow Tie:

Does anyone have any experience with this? Do you personally use it throughout the day or during a warmup? Can the formal bow tie be used during the day (e.g. at the computer) or is it for warming up with only? If using throughout the day, do you find it complementary to the postural approach in Deskbound?

      Thanks

I think the Bow Tie is a fine piece of equipment and when used in the context of working on solving the entire problem around your shoulder position it can be and effective adjunct to your training. You don’t want to end up in a situation where you rely completely on it to make you feel better for a little while and never actually do any work to keep your shoulders in a more optimal position when it is not on. I have not purchased his official version yet but have done the self version with the voodoo band to myself and patients over the last year or so with good results on top of a comprehensive plan of attack.
      Hope this helps!

      Hi Ben,

My husband and I both have the bow ties and use it daily. We tend to wear them when we are it for a casual walk or making dinner, approx 1 hour a day. We have not tried using them in training or warm up yet. We have both notified a significant difference in our postures and thoracic muscles. We definitely recommend the bow tie for both men and women

      Hope this helps!
