      Hello everybody

I am almost 4 month post op on my right ankle where bone spurs were removed. Recovery went well in the beginning but after 2-3 month I started getting similar pain when in dorsiflexion. Went to see the doctor yesterday and he told me most likely the pain is scar tissue being impinged. He gave me a Cortisone injection and by the way he had trouble going through the scar tissue even with a thick needle. Today I feel no pain which tells me this is the scar tissue that is causing the problem and the fact the doctor told me the ankle looked in good condition.
So my plan is to get rid of this thick scar tissue and I would like to hear from you if you have had any success in breaking it up and what helped the most? I´ve read about acupuncture, massaging and using the voodoo band along with stretching.
      Any suggestions?

Voodoo bands can work wonders at releasing the scat tissue from the skin and muscles in the area and restoring good blood flow and range of motion. I would also suggest getting a pair of therapy balls from Jill Miller’s website tuneupfitness.com They work very well for these areas where there isn’t a lot of meat on the bones to grip and help release tension between skin, muscles and scar tissue.

      Matti–
Building on Travis’ recommendation see if there are any Hawkgrip providers in your area.
I’ve seen great results with breaking up scar tissue with these.
Message me where you live and I can help see if there is anyone in your area.

I live in Iceland. Not sure if anybody is using Hawkgrip here but I´ll look into it 🙂
