So I have Anterolateral Ankle Impingement, what are some things I can do to help this? I really don’t want to get surgery if I don’t have to.

Optimizing position and movement patterns is a place to start.
      Working within pain free ranges.
Take a look at the pistol archetype.
This will help identify what needs work.
Working up and down stream of the ankle will feed slack to the area.

Manage the inflammatory process if that is present.

Take a look at the position of your foot/ankle in your footwear.
Lowering the chance of the foot being forced upward enough to cause the jamming at the joint may help.

Likely a problem with your feet and you collapsing the arch when you do movements that involve dorsiflexion. Also look at the 27 squats video we did and focus solely on how far you can squat without your foot collapsing to the floor.
