Can anybody explain the theory behind this idea?  Are physical therapists recommending this?

“Walk on an inclined treadmill (30°) and keep your feet, heel included, on the treadmill until the end of the motion – do not walk just on the front of your feet. It will hurt at the beginning but after 3 sessions ( 10 minutes each*) of doing that I was, to my surprise, able to squat normally and do the “third world squat” without falling :)”
