The Ready State Virtual Mobility Coach is like having a virtual Kelly Starrett in your pocket.
Easy way to make jumping rope part of your routine is incorporating jump rumps into your warm-up. Great way to get the engine going before a workout and is also a great skill and diagnostic piece as well. Check out K-star’s videos on jump rope mechanics below:
I’d check out the videos and then start practicing! Spend 2-3 minutes practicing them in your warm-ups before your workouts or before a run and eventually start throwing them into your workouts for a cardio piece. For example if you like Crossfit style workouts you could do:
5 rounds for time:
50 jump ropes
20 air squats
You can keep it pretty simple, just try and throw them into your routine a couple times as week as a warm-up or part of your workout and you should be good to go. And yes, jump rope is fairly low impact activity so if no other options should be fine to do on concrete as long as it feels comfortable.
